I use a lot of SVGs on my websites. The current image field allows me to upload SVGs, but a thumbnail doesn't appear. This is pretty confusing to my clients as they assume there is no image associated with the field. Hopefully this is a quick fix!

I also use lots of SVGs. I would like this feature added as well.

I thought I would also note, though, that most of my clients only just post blogs, they don't typically use SVGs - they upload jpg images for their blog posts... so it's not a problem for the most part for me so far. I usually have two image fields in any content type that needs images where an image would probably use SVG... so that I can at least see what I've uploaded - for example, Social media icons. I use SVGs in the actual design of the site for these, but I put a place where I can upload SVGs in one image entry, and other image types in another, and I only show the non-SVG in the list so when a client looks, they can actually see it still... and it doesn't confuse them.
SVGs do NOT, however, show up when using them in a gallery, which is not good if I'm wanting to use a really clear, any-sized, version of an image in a portfolio, for example. In my own website - techsoupcreative.com - I ended up using very large versions of PNGs, or JPGs instead, but that can possibly affect load time, so it would truly be nice to have SVG work in galleries.
Just a few additional thoughts regarding this feature request. Thanks!
