I have a question, I'm very new at all of this stuff and I'm trying to get an ifttt webhook applet set up.
Spotify's Web API has a nice new feature of Start/Resume a User’s Playback. My goal is to create an ifttt trigger through alexa to start a specific playlist (so it can be combined with other commands at the same time...)
I've got the code from Spotify's Web API o work correctly. I just don'tknow how to enter it correctly into the ifttt webhook applet.
for example here's the curl from the API:
curl -X PUT
"https://api.spotify.com/v1/me/player/play" -H "Accept:
application/json" -H "Authorization: Bearer
-H "Content-Type: application/json" --data
I can't seem to upload a pic cause I'm new, but here's the gist of the webhook applet...
URL: not sure how much of the original url to put in here. I tried all of it and it didn't work.
Method: drop down menu, including PUT which is what the API uses, but this is stated in the original url, so not sure if i delete it from there if its stated here.
content type: another drop down menu: the API uses application/json. again this is stated in the original url, not sure if i take it out since its stated here...
body: on the API this is where the context of which playlist you're selecting goes. not sure if i have to separate it here or not.
I'm just not sure which pieces of info to put where. some help would very wel be appreciated. I AM new to all of this but I do have some understanding of what this is actually doing, just not sure which pieces to put where to get it to work correctly.
thank you guys in advance for all the help!
EDIT: on the original url there's also an authorization token needed to access private data from spotify. i'm not sure where to place that in the webhook applet either, i'm guessing within the main url but just not sure...
This forum is for Webhook CMS — probably not the right place for your questions.
okay thanks for the reply
